The Whole Lodge for Your Group

The whole property on the Naranjo River, just for your group of up to 20.

For a few days, the river, the waterfall and the big kitchen table are yours alone.

The Whole Lodge is Chorro Ecolodge booked for one group: four safari tents for up to 20 guests on the Naranjo River, about 35 minutes from Manuel Antonio.

Two Standard tents sleep four each and the two Family tents take six, each with real beds and its own bathroom a few steps away. Mornings start with coffee in the open-air kitchen. Evenings end around the fire pit or at the long table, where one group of twelve played games until late.

The wooden yoga deck looks out over the treetops, and retreat leaders keep bringing their groups back. Between sessions, a stone path leads down to the swimming hole below our waterfall.

Our neighbor Doña Luz can cook Costa Rican breakfasts and dinners for everyone, and we can help arrange rafting, massages and tours.

Who it's for

Yoga and wellness retreats, family reunions, birthdays and groups of friends who want the whole place to themselves. Groups of twelve and more have filled every tent and still found quiet corners. For a smaller party, book one or two tents instead.

Good to know

  • Three-night minimum. The price is per night for the whole lodge, plus 13% tax.
  • Book meals ahead. Tell us how many will eat next door and when; the shared kitchen is yours the rest of the time.
  • Arrive in daylight. The last mile or so is gravel, fine for regular cars, and there is parking on site.
  • Quiet hours run from 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., for your group and the neighbors.
  • Signal is patchy. Wi-Fi is limited, which many guests count as a feature.
  • In the rainy months the current can run too high for a swim; the pool below the falls stays calmer.

Good to know before you book

How far is Chorro Ecolodge from Manuel Antonio and Quepos?

About 35 minutes by car from Manuel Antonio, a little less from Quepos, and about 4 hours from the San José airport. A regular car is fine; the last mile or so is gravel. There is parking on site, and we can arrange transfers.

What is the difference between glamping and camping here?

You sleep in a safari tent on real beds with linens, electricity and a ceiling fan, with your own bathroom and hot shower a few steps away. You still hear the river and the frogs all night, which is the point.

Is it good for kids?

Yes. Families with children from three to their teens stay with us, and the river, the waterfall pool, the hammocks and the fire pit keep them busy. The Family Glamping Tent sleeps six.

Can we swim in the river and the waterfall?

Yes. In the dry months the river has calm pools, and the swimming hole below the falls is a two-minute walk from the tents. After heavy rain the current can run too high; we will tell you where it is safe.

Are meals included?

No. There is a shared open-air kitchen, and the Family tent has its own small fridge. Our neighbor Doña Luz cooks Costa Rican breakfasts and dinners at her house next door; let us know ahead.
